+Lord God, we pray for the Church that bears your name and we ask that its leaders and all her members stand for justice, mercy and what is right in these troubled times. 

 

+For Pope Leo as he speaks out for the poor, for refugees and for those struggling to provide for their families, especially for those without the necessary resources to do so. 

 

+Prepare we the people of this country and especially baptized members of Your Church, Lord, to stand with the powerless and the oppressed in this time in history and may we never claim privilege or power over others; but, seek to stand against power and oppression in all its forms.
 

+Help us  call out and seek to correct injustice whenever and wherever we encounter it. 

 

+That the leaders of this nation live up to the allegiance that they made along with all of us as "one nation under God, indivisible and with liberty and justice for all" and we pray that immigrants to this country find peace and a place with and among us.
