PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL
EASTER SUNDAY of the Resurrection of the Lord
April 5, 2026
Celebrant: With faith, we offer our prayers…
Deacon/Reader:
1. On this first day of the week, we ask, as disciples whom Jesus loves, that Pope Leo XIV continue as our example of a devoted follower of Jesus in his witness as a chosen servant of God... We pray to the Lord.
2. On this first day of the week, we ask, as disciples whom Jesus loves, that all priests and ordained ministers of God be strengthened in their commission to preach the good news promised in the resurrection of Jesus Christ... We pray to the Lord.
3. On this first day of the week, we ask, as disciples whom Jesus loves, that the Church, the Body of Christ, may have the courage to examine herself and rededicate herself in allegiance to Christ and only his ways of manifesting love and justice... We pray to the Lord.
4. On this first day of the week, we ask, as disciples whom Jesus loves, that with Jesus’ help we might clear out all that is in us that prevents us from rising with him to newness of life in the light of his grace... We pray to the Lord.
5. On this first day of the week, we ask, as disciples whom Jesus loves, that the malice and wickedness we find in the world may be transformed through the sincere and truthful efforts of God’s Holy Spirit within us... We pray to the Lord.
6. On this first day of the week, we ask, as disciples whom Jesus loves, that those who do not know the story of Jesus, Son of Man, Son of God and have not experienced his living presence may come to know him through our stories of forgiveness, redemption and resurrection... We pray to the Lord.
7. On this first day of the week, we give thanks, as disciples whom Jesus loves, for all good and gracious gifts of our creator and none more precious than the life, death and resurrection of his son, Jesus... We pray to the Lord.
Celebrant: Loving Father, hear us and with the Light of Your Love, guide us always, as we pray in Your Holy Name, through Christ our Lord.
R: Amen.
